President of Nokia China - Olympic Torch Bearer

With only one day to go until the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Nokia China is very proud to share the happiness and joy of the Games with the entire Nokia family.

Colin Giles, President of Nokia China, has participated in the final Beijing leg of the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay. Beijing leg is both the beginning and ending point of the entire China torch relay, and thus holds a symbolic importance for the Games. Colin ran today as the 17th torchbearer of the Ba Daling Great Wall leg.

“This was a huge honor for me,” said Colin. “Participating in the Torch Relay was one of the most memorable and important moments in my life and I will cherish it forever.”

“Nokia is all about connecting people, so we are proud to be part of this wonderful connection as we witness great changes in Beijing,” added Colin. “The torch relay is a bridge that brings together different countries and different races in the spirit of friendship and peace. My hope, and Nokia’s hope, is to help more people know and understand Beijing and China, and the Chinese people.”
