The UIQ Open is an application competition where you submit your most creative UIQ 3 application(s) and a panel of judges selects two winners in five categories to reward each application with a UIQ phone, marketing and commercial packages, and more. On top of that, the winners will have their application featured in the UIQ Application Demo Suite 2008.

Symbian’s Improved Developer Signing Processes are now available

Hi guys,

Finally symbian-signed process has become simpler.

Symbian has 3 categories for symbian-signed based on needs of developers:

Open Signed – provides a free offline signing process using Developer Certificates allowing an application to be installed and tested on up to 1000 devices controlled by declared IMEIs (unique phone identification numbers).

Express Signed – an entirely new process to allow software developers with Publisher IDs to instantly sign all applications that do not require access to the more sensitive device functions, allowing faster time-to-market. Developers can now sign applications on Express Signed for as little as US$20.

Certified Signed – for those applications that require access to restricted system capabilities and/or where independent testing is desired.

Recent changes in symbian-signed process are recorded, thanks to Nokia forum, it is available at Symbian-Signed Webinar
